This thesis is entitled: “Enhancing Reading Proficiency Through The Implementation Of The PARS Strategy Of The Second-grade Students Of SMA Negeri 1 Lobalain In The Academic Year 2024/2025” The purpose of this research is to investigate the enhancement of reading proficiency of the second-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Lobalain during the academic year 2024/2025 through the implementation of the PARS (Preview, Ask questions, Read, and Summarize) strategy. Reading is a fundamental skill critical for language development and academic success. Yet, many students experience significant challenges in comprehension due to limited vocabulary, poor grammar mastery, and a lack of effective reading strategies. The study identifies these difficulties and seeks to address them by employing the PARS strategy, which encourages an interactive and structured approach to reading. The research aims to measure improvements in reading proficiency resulting from this method. It highlights the theoretical benefits of understanding the PARS strategy and its practical implications for students, teachers, and the educational community. The findings are expected to provide insights into effective teaching strategies that foster student engagement and enhance reading skills. Ultimately, this study underscores the importance of developing robust reading comprehension skills to improve overall academic performance and cognitive abilities among students.
