This research discusses the students’ perceptions on the use of Google Translate as a medium in English–Indonesian translation of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Lewolema. The aims of this research are (1) to know the students' perceptions of using Google Translate and (2) to know the advantages and disadvantages of using Google Translate as a medium in English-Indonesian translation of the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Lewolema. The population of this research was 50 students. The instruments used to collect the data were questionnaires and interviews. To gather the data, the writer used questionnaires to know the students' perception of Google Translate as a translation tool, and interviews to learn more about the benefits and drawbacks of utilizing Google Translate. The findings indicated that 90% or 45 of students had positive perception of using Google Translate. They find the application helpful in understanding English texts and accelerating the translation process. However, some students also acknowledge the weaknesses of Google Translate, such as grammatical errors and context inaccuracies. Despite these limitations, Google Translate is still considered a useful and efficient tool in supporting English language learning. It is anticipated that this study will educate educators and learners about the advantages and drawbacks of Google Translate and promote more responsible usage in learning environments.
