The research questions of this research: 1) Are there any gender equality reflected in the proposal speeches delivered by the spokesperson in Rote Baa marriage ceremony? 2) What types of forms or expression do they used in Rote Baa marriage ceremony? The aims are to 1) Find out whether there is gender equality reflected in the speech delivered by male speakers in Rote Baa marriage ceremony and to find out and 2) know the types of forms or expressions used in Rote Baa marriage ceremony. The research design of this study used qualitative method. The research was conducted in Suelain village, Rote Ndao district from May to June. The research was conducted in Rote Ba’a village by interview the spokesperson and the Man Leo also the researchers directly participated in the traditional marriage ceremony ceremonial to obtain accurate research data. The data collection techniques were observation and interview. The results show that the expressions used in the Rote Ba’a community show the existence of gender equality which expressed through the traditional marriage ceremony.
