This study investigates the linguistic forms and meanings embedded in the Tappa Hollo rituaL, a purification ceremony in Jontona Village, Lembata Regency. Guided by two research questions what linguistic forms are involved in the Tappa Hollo ritual, and what are the meanings of those forms this study employs a qualitative descriptive method to examine the phenomenon. The research participants included three residents of Jontona Village: traditional leaders and individuals familiar with the ritual's cultural and linguistic aspects. Data were collected through interviews, note-taking, video recordings, and photographs. The findings reveal various linguistic forms, ranging from morphemes, words, phrases, clauses, sentences, to discourses, each playing a crucial role in conveying cultural and spiritual messages. Utilizing Geoffrey Leech's seven types of meaning conceptual, connotative, social, affective, reflective,collocative, and thematic this study highlights the cultural values inherent in the Tappa Hollo ritual. These linguistic elements not only preserve the traditions and beliefs of the Lamaholot- speaking community but also serve as vital tools for fostering social harmony and spiritual well-being. This research underscores the importance of language in maintaining the cultural and spiritual relevance of the Tappa Hollo ritual ritual and suggests further studies on similar rituals, comparative analysis, preservation efforts, and educational integration to ensure the sustainability of this rich cultural heritage.
