This study, titled "A Semiotic Study of the Motif Patterns of Nusak Delha Traditional Weavings," examines the traditional ikat weaving motifs of the Nusak Delha region. The research aims to identify the motif patterns used in Nusak Delha traditional weavings and to uncover the meanings behind these motifs or symbols. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected in Nemberala Village, West Rote Sub-district, Rote Ndao Regency—an area renowned for its Nusak Delha ikat weaving tradition. The primary data sources include the women weavers of the "Ina Delha" weaving group, who possess expertise in creating these unique textiles. Data collection techniques involve observation, interviews, recording, photography, and note-taking to ensure comprehensive documentation.The findings reveal five key motifs in Nusak Delha ikat weavings: (1) Hau Buna Motif, symbolizing the highest social position, historically associated with royal lineage. (2) Mbeu Tana Motif, representing distress and hunger. (3) Dula Koe Motif, symbolizing unity among the Nusak Delha community. (4) Langga Ainulu Motif, symbolizing a decorative crown. (5) Langga Ne'teta Motif, symbolizing unity and serving as a barrier motif in blankets. The semiotic analysis, based on Peirce's meaning triangle theory—comprising representamen, object, and interpretant—reveals that each motif embodies significant cultural and social values of the Nusak Delha community. This study contributes to preserving and understanding the rich cultural heritage of Nusak Delha traditional ikat weaving.
