This study aims to: (1) Determine the potential of agricultural land in Basmuti Village, South Central Timor Regency. (2) Analyze land quality in Basmuti Village, South Central Timor Regency. This study uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. Quantitative data are obtained from soil parameter measurements carried out through laboratory tests. Qualitative data are obtained through interviews and field observations with scoring and data matching analysis techniques. The data sources consist of primary data and secondary data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to determine the potential rice field agricultural land based on the Land Potential Index parameters, such as soil texture, drainage, soil type, pH. The results of the study showed that (1). Rice field land in Basmuti Village has 4 classes of Land Potential Index (IPL), namely, high class has a score of 4, medium class has a score of 3, and low class has a score of 2. Analysis related to IPL is important for regional planning so that the land utilized is in accordance with its potential. (2). Land quality analysis has several characteristics that need to be considered. Physically, the land has a clay texture, slightly obstructed drainage, clay type. Meanwhile, chemically the soil pH ranges from 7.90-8.24. Biologically, the soil at the research location shows moderate potential. Keywords: Land Potential, Land Quality, Rice Fields.
