<note>This study aims to enrich the understanding of the process, meanings, and symbolism involved in the Pedan'ne process within the Djingi Ti'u community.The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with members of the Djingi Ti'u community, as well as visual documentation in the form of photographs and videos. The findings indicate that the Pedan'ne ceremony is a ritual process that holds profound significance for the Sabu community, lasting three days and consisting of stages, including preparation, the main ceremony, and closure. This ceremony is conducted to honor and purify the spirits of the deceased, ensuring their acceptance in the afterlife. The research reveals various symbols utilized in the Pedan'ne ceremony, such as the colors of clothing, the sound of the giring-giring (a traditional musical instrument), poetic verses, the act of circling the village, sitting stones, young coconuts, and sticks wrapped in fat or cotton that are burned. The meanings of the symbols are interpreted as representations of the Djingi Ti'u beliefs regarding life after death, the relationship between humans and nature, and the spiritual values passed down through generations.
