The method used in this study was qualitative method. Interview, recording, note-taking, and observation were used as the qualitative techniques of data collection. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that there were 7 types of figurative language namely simile, metaphor, allegory, personification, eponym, epithet, and innuendo and 5 types of meaning namely conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, and reflected meaning that are used in Rukenana Ae ceremony of Sabunesse culture.
