<note>This thesis is entitled: “USING GUIDED READING METHOD IN IMPROVING READING COMPREHENSION OF CLASS B OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 1 PANTAI BARU OF ROTE REGENCY IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024 (A CASE STUDY)”. The problems of this study are (1) to what extent does the ‘Guided Reading Technique’ improve reading comprehension of class B of the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Pantai Baru of Rote regency? (2) what problems does the teacher encounter in using the guided reading method? The study’s aims are (1) to find out if the ‘Guided Reading Technique’ improves reading comprehension of class B of the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Pantai Baru of Rote regency, and (2) to find out the problems the teacher encounters in using the guided reading method. The method used in this thesis was quantitative and qualitative. The subjects of this research were 25 students of tenth-grade students of  SMAN 1 Pantai Baru of Rote regency from class B. The techniques of data collection were pre-test and post-test. The results show that the students' scores increased significantly from the pre-test to the post-test. In the pre-test, only 5% of students reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria, while in the post-test, it changed to 95%. Besides, the students’ mean scores also improved from 45.4 to 78.8. These improvements happened because of the implementation of the Guided Reading Method technique in reading comprehension.
