<note>This thesis is entitled: ‘An Analysis of Grammatical Errors in Writing Descriptive Text  Committed by Eleventh-Grade Students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the Academic Year 2024/2025’. The problems of this study are; (1) What are the types of grammatical errors in writing descriptive text committed by eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the academic year 2023/2024, (2) what are the causes of grammatical errors in writing descriptive text committed by eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the academic year 2023/2024, and (3) what are offered solutions to those problems. This study aims are:to identify and describe types of grammatical errorsin writing descriptive text committed by eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the academic year 2023/2024, to describe the causes of grammatical errorsin writing descriptive text committed by eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the academic year 2023/2024, and to describe offered solutions to those problems above. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research was eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Kupang Barat in the academic year 2023/2024. There were 20 students. The instruments of data collection are writing test and interview. The result shows that there are four types of grammatical errors committed by eleventh-grade students in writing descriptive text. They were 27 errors of omission, 11 errors of addition, 17 errors of misformation, and 13 errors of misordering. There were three causes of errors. They were 5 of carelessness, 5 of first-language interference, and 10 of translation. The offered solutions to those problems are teachers should motivate students to study harder about English especially in writing descriptive text, learn a lot of vocabulary and grammatical rules.
