This study examines the logos of Manggaraian student organizations in Kupang specifically the Ikatan Mahasiswa Borong Kupang (IMBK) and Himpunan Mahasiswa Peternakan Manggarai-Kupang (HMPM) as identity markers through semiotic analysis. Using Charles Sanders Peirce's triadic model of representamen, object, and interpretant, the research investigates the visual symbols in these logos and explores their cultural and organizational meanings. The study reveals that both logos incorporate culturally significant symbols: IMBK features shaking hands symbolizing solidarity and a Manggaraian proverb expressing unity, while HMPM prominently displays buffalo horns representing prosperity, courage, and traditional values. The analysis demonstrates how these symbols function on multiple semiotic levels, with each visual element conveying layered meanings specific to Manggaraian culture. The logos serve as effective identity markers by distinguishing these organizations from others through geographical specificity, educational focus, and explicit organizational values. Furthermore, they function as bridges between traditional Manggaraian cultural values and contemporary academic contexts, allowing members to maintain cultural connections while adapting to modern environments. This research contributes to understanding how visual symbols in organizational logos can simultaneously preserve cultural identity, communicate organizational values, and create cohesive communities among students living away from their homeland.
