<note>This thesis is titled “The Use of Think – Pair – Share (TPS) Method to Improve Students’ Writing Skill on Descriptive Text At 11th Grade Students of SMA Kristen 1 Kupang.” This research addressed one research question: Is the students’ writing skill in writing descriptive text significantly improved while they are taught using the Think-Pair-Share method? The aim of this research is to discover how writing skill can be improved using the Think- Pair-Share method for grade 11 of SMA Kristen 1 Kupang. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data, and is conducted throughclassroom action research. Data collection methods include tests, observations,and documentation. The writing proficiency of students was assessed through a pre-test and a post-test, measuring various criteria such as content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. Initial findings showed that only 10.52% of students met the 80% success criterion in the pre-test. However, following the implementation of the TPS method, the post-test results indicated a substantial improvement, with 94.73% of students achieving the success criterion.The results suggest that the Think-Pair-Share method effectively enhances students' writing skill in descriptive text, as evidenced by increased student engagement and performance. This study concludes that the Think-Pair-Sharemethod is a successful instructional strategy for improving writing proficiency among high school students.
