<note>TikTok, a social media platform that integrates short videos, became a medium of instruction to help students master communication skills, in particular speaking skills. This study, using qualitative descriptive method, investigated the effects of using the TikTok application on students’ speaking skills and the student’ perceptions toward the use of the TikTok application to improve their speaking skills. Interview and questionnaires were administered to 20 students of the second semester English Department of Nusa Cendana University. TikTok has become a type of social media integrated with short videos of practical and fascinating English language contact resources for learning posted by English teachers or native English speakers, and this was accepted by students who learned English-speaking skill in the modern digital English language. In addition, another percentage, 13 out of 20 students acknowledged the importance of receiving feedback during speaking activities, recognizing it as an important tool to improve their communication skills. Similarly, a substantial majority 17 out of 20 students felt that they don't have encountered difficulties in finding relevant TikTok content that helps practicing their speaking skills. While the majority were positive, the data also revealed interesting insights into the perspectives of some students. The results showed that TikTok was effective in improving students English-speaking skills. Moreover, students had positive perceptions towards the TikTok application. Most students agreed that utilizing TikTok is enjoyable and promotes creativity, and provides new opportunities to learn English. TikTok should be integrated into language learning contexts to make the classroom environment more engaging and promote students language proficiency.
