<note>This thesis is entitled: “Improving Reading Comprehension by Using Short Story Technique of Tenth-grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Satarmese Manggarai Int The Academic Years 2024/2025”. The problem of this research is: can short story techniques improve the reading comprehension of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Satarmese Manggarai in the academic year 2024/2025? This research aims to know whether the use of short story techniques aims read comprehension. The research design used in this study was Classroom Action Research(CAR). The writer used a descriptive-qualitative method in this Classroom Action Writer because the data deal with improving reading comprehension of tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Satarmese Manggarai in the academic year 2024/2025. The subject of this research is tenth graders of  SMA Negeri 1 Satarmese Manggarai in the academic year 2024/2025. The total number of tenth graders will be 100 students distributed in 5 classes from  E1 to class E5. Every class consists of 20 students. The number of classes chosen was only 1 consisting of 20 students, namely class E1. The techniques of data collection used in this Classroom Action Research were observation and test. The data will be analyzed by using two techniques that is qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The result of the data analysis shows that using short story can improve the reading comprehension of tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Satarmese.
