This research is entitled. “A Semiotic Analysis on Symbols of Belis in Traditional Marriage Ceremonies in Thie Tribe Rote Regency”. The focus of this research is the meanings of symbols found in the traditional marriage ceremonies in Thie Tribe, Rote Regency”. The objectives of this study are to find out the symbols and the meaning of the symbols in the traditional marriage ceremonies in Thie Tribe, Rote Regency”. All the data gained are analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method and semiotic concept by Charles Sanders Peirce. The instrument used in this study are documentation, interview, recording and note taking using elicitation techniques from one informant. The result of this study showed that there are twelve symbols found in the traditional marriage ceremonies in Thie Tribe” they are:, ‘Ndunak’ as a symbol of respect and appreciation, ‘Daido, Mbua and A’o’ as a symbol of the highest appreciation in human interaction because it is a unity and a habit, ‘Ndeli’ as a symbol of love, ‘Sapi’ as a symbol of appreciation from the male side to the female side, especially to the women’s parents, ‘Doik’ as a symbol of appreciation and respect from the male side to the female side, particularly to the mother of the bride, ‘Dulang’ as a symbol of politeness, ‘Lava Ana’ as a symbol of appreciation of respect, ‘Lilin’ as a symbol of lighting the life, ‘Balo’a Rombo Lava’ as a symbol of identify and social status, ‘Ti’i Langga‘ as a symbol of leadership, authority and self-confidence .
