Alor is an island in East Nusa Tenggara, which has a very important cultural remain of the past. The cultural remain is in the form of pre-Hindu tradition called megalithic tradition in which some of them still exist until today namely Mesbah, traditional houses, moko, and other heritage. The aim of this study is to know the form and function of Mesbah. The method of data collection are library research, observation, and interview. The data was analysed qualitatively and. The result shows that Mesbah, and other heritage are considered to be sacred, functioned as ancestor worshipping media , social status and kinship. Keywords: Mesbah, Form, Meaning, Function.
