This thesis is entitled ‘A study on clitics in East Amarasi Dialect of Amarasi Language’. The aims of this writing are; to identify the types of clitics in East Amarasi dialect of Amarasi language, to the describe the function of clitics in East Amarasi dialect of Amarasi language, to describe the process of clitization in East Amarasi dialect of Amarasi language. The writer takes several concepts of morphology and clitics as the basic material in analyzing clitics in East Amarasi dialect of Amarasi language. The writer applied the descriptive qualitative method to describe all the data and information factually and objectively as they are. This research was conducted in Oebesi village, a village in East Amarasi sub-district of Kupang Regency. The native speakers of Amarasi dialect were chosen to be the informants. The writer stimulated the informants by asking them to tell stories about their daily life. The writer also recorded all the oral conversations of the informants, then the writer noted the important information that the writer got along the conversations. The finding and discussion of the study is based on the researches that have been done. The writer found that the clitics in East Amarasi dialect of Amarasi language are attached to the host. Based on the subject of the sentences. They are categorized into proclitics and enclitics. Proclitics forms are u-, m-, n- and t-. Enclitics forms are –k, -m, and –n. Their functions are as subject markers, as subject itself and as possessive markers. The result shows the uniqueness of Amarasi language especially in East Amarasi dialect.
