This thesis is entitled: An Analysis on Students’ Speaking Ability in Describing Objects by the Second Semester Students of English Department Nusa Cendana University in Academic Year 2024/2025. This research focused on the students’ speaking ability and students' difficulty in describing objects. The problems of this study were: First, what were the level of speaking ability of Second Semester Students in describing object. Second, what were the difficulties faced by the Second Semester Students in describing object. This study aims to find out the level of speaking ability of second-semester students in describing object, to know the difficulties faced by the second-semester students in describing object. The method used was a qualitative method. The subjects of this research were the second semester students of English Study Program of Nusa Cendana University. The data collection instruments used were questionnaires. The data were analyzed by collecting data. The results shows that most students demonstrated a good level of speaking ability in describing objects. The most successfully described aspects were function/use and color, while shape and category/group posed more difficulty. Furthermore, students faced challenges in terms of limited vocabulary, lack of confidence, and infrequent speaking practice. Key words: speaking, ability, describing, analysis
