The independence of Timor Leste gave rise to various problems experienced by Indonesian citizens from East Timor. One of the problems is the erasure of land ownership rights. This study aims to investigate two important things, namely how the abolition of the rights to land ownership of Indonesian citizens from Timor Leste in Timor Leste in terms of National Land Law, International Law and Timor Leste Law; and how to resolve the issue of the loss of individual land rights as a result of the independence of Timor Leste. The research uses a normative juridical approach by utilizing secondary data. The results showed that the land rights of Indonesian citizens from Timor Timor were abolished and became the property of the Government of Timor Leste. From this study it was also found that compensation for the loss of land rights of Indonesian citizens from East Timor is the responsibility of the Government of Indonesia.
