Abstract: The legal issues researched in this project are regarding the role of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in handling collective violence, and the case in the spotlight is the border dispute case between East Manggarai Regency and Ngada Regency. This research is classified as empirical legal research using observation and interview methods in collecting data from the field. The results of this study indicate that Brimob as a group of apparatus entrusted by the state to carry out the functions of law enforcement, maintenance of security and public order, as well as protectors, guarding, and public servants, has played an active role in preventing and overcoming acts of collective violence, starting from receiving reports or complaints until the process of investigation. The steps taken by Brimob to anticipate the occurrence of disturbances or obstacles for the border verification team of the two regencies are with the Head of the Manggarai Police Intelligence and Security Unit with members to carry out network formation and development activities with heads of district who are directly on the border of the two regencies.
