Metaphors as an important language tool play a role in enriching meaning and expressing human experience. Semantics is generally known as the study of meaning in a language. This study is entitled: “A SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF METAPHORS IN UAB METO SPOKEN IN NORTH AMANATUN”. There are two problems in this study. The first problem is What are the types of metaphors found in Uab Meto spoken in North Amanatun. The second problem is What are the semantic meanings of metaphor found in Uab Meto spoken in North Amanatun. This study aims to identify the types of metaphors used in the Uab Meto language and analyze the symbolic and connotative meanings contained therein. The appropriate method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. This study was conducted in North Amanatun, Fotilo Village. Research data were collected through audio recording observations, and interviews with native Uab Meto speakers. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and interpretation of metaphorical meaning. Based on Ullman's metaphor classification theory (2009, 266-270) the results of this study indicate that the writer found four types of metaphors in the Amanatun Dialect. The four types are anthropomorphic metaphor, synesthetic metaphor, animal metaphor, and abstract to concrete metaphor. The most dominant type of metaphor is abstract to concrete, with 10 sentences found. This study shows that metaphors are used to express abstract concepts and emotions in Uab Meto language.
