The research is entitled “The Analysis of Kose Bu: A traditional ceremony in KamubhekaEnde Flores”. The focus of this research is to find out the Speech event of Kose Bu in Kamubheka, Ende Flores. The research subject of this study is people in Kamubheka village. The aim of this study is to know about the Speech Event of Kose Bu ceremony in Kamubheka society.To analyze the problem, the researcher used Dell Hymes theory, Speaking Concept as the main theory. The research method that has been employed in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research explain the process of traditional ceremony “Kose Bu” using Speaking Concept namely: Setting, Participant, Event, Act Sequence, Key, Instrumentalities, Norms and genre. From the data obtained, the writer concluded that Kose Bu ceremony is a sacred ceremony. Therefore, people who take part in the ceremony must follow the rules and procedures that have been set.
