<note>This thesis is entitled The Use of Pictures in Writing Procedural Text by The Ninth Grade Students of SMPN 14 Kupang in Academic Year 2020/2021. This study was conducted to answer the research question: 1) how are pictures used in teacing and learning to write procedural texts by students of SMPN 14 Kupang, 2) what are the strength and weaknesses of the use of pictures in teaching and learning writing procedural text by the students of SMP N 14 Kupang?. The aims of this study were to know pictures are used in teaching and learning of writing procedural text by students and to know what the strength and weaknesses of the use of pictures in teaching and learning writing procedural text by the students of SMP N 14 Kupang. The type of method used was descriptive-qualitative method. The writer took 10 students to be the sample of this research. The result of the data analysis was 70% of the students understand well writing the procedure text using pictures
