<note>The aims of this research are to find out the effectiveness of teaching listening to middle school by using storytelling video, to identify whether or not the use of storytelling video give a good impact on students listening test score, identify strength and weaknesses of learning listening using storytelling video and to give solutions to overcome students difficulties in learning English using storytelling video. The type of method used in this research is an experimental method with one group doing pretest and posttest. Pretest and posttest exposed different treatments with the same questions. The pretest was treated with storytelling audio, while the posttest was treated with storytelling audio. The results of the test were analyzed to know whether or not storytelling video can increase students’ listening scores. They were done by calculating the mean score of the pretest and posttest. The calculation shows that the mean score of the pretest was 5.4 and the mean score of the posttest was 6.67. It means that the use of storytelling video in teaching listening for the first grade of SMP Negeri 5 Kupang can increase students listening scores. The strength and the weakness of learning listening using storytelling video faced by the first grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Kupang studied listening using storytelling can increase students’ test score, students had no attention during the learning process and become boring with the story used and they did not do the test well because the tests were online and few students did not really understand how to fill Google form. The writer offers some suggestions like teachers have to control and make sure students pay attention during the learning process, students who do not know how to fill Google form need to be contacted and directed via Whatsapp and select stories to be used in the learning process.
