<note>This study aimed to explain the grammatical of adjective-preposition collocation used by the students of English Department of Nusa Cendana University and to describe the causes of the ungrammatical use of adjectivepreposition collocation by The Fifth-semester students of English Department of Nusa Cendana University. The data were taken from the test results and questionnaires. To analyze the data, qualitative approaches was utilized in this research. There are fourteen adjective-preposition collocations, as the result of this research, it shows that except for good-at, annoyed-at, and grateful-for adjectivepreposition collocations (question number 5, 12 and 14), most of the forty students of class H of fifth-semester students answered the rest of the adjectivepreposition collocations grammatically. As for the causes of the ungrammatical
use of adjective-preposition collocation by Fifth-semester students of English Department of Nusa Cendana University, there are three main causes of the ungrammatical answer of adjective-preposition collocation. The first is the adjective preposition collocation, considered new by the students. The second adjective-preposition collocation is difficult for students to learn, and the third students are confused to collocate adjectives to the appropriate prepositions.
