<note>‘An Analisys of Teachers’ Feedback to Eight Grade Students of SMP Negeri Batu Putih’. It was conducted to answer the research problems such as: (1) What are types of written feedback (direct feedback, inderect feedback) given by the teachers to the grade VIII students’ of SMP N Batu Putih? (2) What are categories of written feedback (informational feedback and affective feedback) given by the teachers to the grade VIII students’ of SMP N Batu Putih? (3) What are students perception on teacher feedback on their writing. The subject of this study was the eight grade students of SMP Negeri Batu Putih. The total number of students in class VII 29, but the writer only chose 5 students randomly as the sample of this study. The instrument use in this study was (1) Field notes, (2) Questionnaires, and (3) Interviews. This research, the data source was the students’ writing. It was collected after their writing aws given written feedback by the teacher. Based on the analysis of students’ writing, it is figured out that the teacher mostly gives feedback in a direct way. Also, the teacher written feedback focuses more on the surface level, especially grammar. Based on the third research question, the result shows (1) Teacher written feedback is objective, (2) Teacher written feedback is clear, (3) Teacher written feedback is assisting, (4) Teacher written feedback is encouraging, and (5) Teacher written feedback is proportional.
