<note>Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Menjelaskan makna denotasi, makna konotasi dan mitos dari tuturan ritual onen neo smanaf  pada masyarakat Desa Nano, Kecamatan Boking, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan. Sedangkan manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah Manfaat Teoretisdan Manfaat Praktis.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis makna tuturan dalam ritual onen neo smanafmenggunakan teori semiotika menurut Roland Barthes yaitu denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Salah satu makna yang terkandung dalam tuturan ritual onen neo smanafadalah (1) Em tok kasuil haek Tabua ak oke Tamnau hit smanfeno Le an bab it ma panat kit  Nok  an fain smanaf knino.Jika dimaknai secara denotasi adalah Suara undangan  ketua adat kepada masyarakat untuk datang duduk bersilang kaki, menggenggam kedua tangan dan menundukan kepala mendengarkan perintah dari ketua adat sedangkan secara konotasi adalah  Kepatuhan, Membangun kebersamaan, mempererat tali persaudaraan agar tetap terjaga kekompakan, dari denotasi dan konotasi lahirlah mitos yaitu masyarakat desa Nano meyakini dengan duduk bersilang kaki menggenggam kedua tangan dan menundukan kepala merupakan bentuk kepatuhan mendengarkan perintah Ketua adat, Masyarakat desa Nano meyakini juga bahwa jika mereka tidak mematuhi perintah ketua adat, permohonan mereka tidak akan diterima oleh leluhur.

This research is entitled, The Meaning of Onen Neo Smanaf Ritual Speech in the Nano Village Community, Boking District, South Central Timor Regency. Boking, South Central Timor Regency?The purpose of this study is to explain the denotative meaning, connotative meaning and myth of the onen neo smanaf ritual speech in the Nano Village community, Boking District, South Central Timor Regency. While the benefits of this research are Theoretical Benefits and Practical Benefits. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Analysis of the meaning of speech in the onen neo smanaf ritual uses semiotic theory according to Roland Barthes, namely denotation, connotation and myth. One of the meanings contained in the ritual speech of onen neo smanaf is (1) Em tok kasuil haek Tabua ak oke Tamnau hit smanfeno Le an bab it ma panat kit Nok an fain smanaf knino. If it is interpreted denotatively, it is the sound of the customary leader's invitation to the community to come and sit cross-legged, holding hands and lowering the head to listen to orders from the traditional leader while in connotation it is Obedience, Building togetherness, strengthening brotherly ties so that cohesiveness is maintained, from denotation and connotation was born. the myth is that the Nano village community believes that sitting cross-legged holding their hands and lowering their head is a form of obedience to listen to the orders of the traditional leader, the Nano village community also believes that if they do not obey the orders of the traditional leader, their request will not be accepted by their ancestors..
