<note>This thesis is entitle:"Close Test used for cheeking Listening Comprehension for second Semester Students in English Study Program University of Nusa Cendana". This research aimed at knowing the ability of students majoring in English in capturing words when hearing narrative texts, and to determine the level of ability of students majoring in English in filling in missing words. The data was collected through a questionnaire in google form as the instrument of this research. There were 31 students in English Study Program of Nusa Cendana University who participated in this research. This research used a descriptive analysis by using quantitative techniques and procedures. From the data collection, the researcher found that Students’ of English Study Program were able to capture and fill in the missing words when listening to narrative text given. The ability level of second semester students’ were in a range between below average to excellent level. There were no student with the ability level in the range between very bad to bad levels. The mean of the ability level of the second semester students’ in fill in the missing words in the close test given is good. It means that in fill in the missing words, second semester students’ of English Study Program have a good enough concentration during the test and have a good enough listening skills in listening to the audio text given.
