<note>The problems of this study are (1) How toimprove students’ listening skill through English songs of SMPN 2 KOTA KUPANG?(2)How are songs implementedin listening class to help students improving their English vocabulary mastery? The aims of this study is (1)To find out whether the use of English songs can improve students’ listening skill. This study is used class action research with quantitative method. From the results of the studythe the author found that the the author found thatdifficulties in listening was the major problem in learning English by the multimedia students at SMP N 2 KOTA KUPANG especially class seven.In cycle I, the author found that the during teaching learning process, students were not serious studying. They did not pay attention on teacher’s explanation and kept making noise and causing them did not finished their tasks on time. In cycle II,the author also found the students were more active and enjoying listening. They were more serious studying without made noise. They also finished their tasks on time. Using English songs as media helped students to enjoy listening by using English songs. As more details, English songs helped students to enjoy listening and created positive atmosphere.
