An Analysis of Register Used by Thrift Sellers During Live Selling on Facebook

This research is entitled ‘An analysis of register used by thrift sellers during live selling on facebook’. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research is the register used by thrift sellers in live selling on faceook. The data are the register words and phrases included in printed material used in live selling on facebook. The data source is the dialogue between the sellers and the customers in live selling on facebook. The technique of collecting data were observation, documentation and interview. The data were analyzed both descriptively and qualitatively. The finding of the research reveals that there are 35 data of register forms used by thrift sellers during live selling on facebook. Based on the analysis, the writer finds the linguistics form of register (13 data of abbreviation, 10 data of noun, 5 data of verb, 1 data of adjective, 3 data of compound word, and 3 data of phrase) and the meaning of register (22 data of contextual meaning and 13 data of lexical meaning).
