A Study On Affixes In Kanatang Dialect Of Kambera Language In East Sumba Regency

This research is entitled, ‘’A study of affixation in Kanatang Dialect of Kambera language in East Sumba Regency”. There are three aims that the writer would like to achieve in this thesis. First this thesis aims is to identify the types of affixation in Kambera Language. Second aim is this using intends to describe the meanings of affixation in Kambera Language. The third to analyze the functions of affixation in Kambera Language. The method was qualitative descriptive method. Data collecting techniques in this writing were interview, recording, and wordlist. The procedures of this research were library and research field. The result of this research found five prefices and five suffices in Kambera language of East Sumba Regency. Prefix and suffix can be attached in word classes. There are five prefices and suffices in kambera language of east Sumba. Five prefices are: /pa-verb/, / na-adjective/, / ta-verb/ ko-adjective/and five suffices are: /wa-verb/, / ng-verb/, /u-verb/, /ya-verb/. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded show that affixation in Kambera language of East Sumba Regency have prefix and suffix. Some prefices and suffices were included preposition, verb and adjectives.
