Teachers’ Strategies In Teaching English Writingto Second-Grade Students Of SMAN 2 Kupang
XMLThe writer conducted this research to answer these three questions: What are the strategies used by English teachers in teaching English writing, what are the impacts of teachers' teaching strategies on the learning process of writing English writing, what are the difficulties faced by students when the English teachers implementing the strategies to teach English writing. The aims are to find out what strategies are used by the English teacher in teaching writing, to know the impacts of teachers’ teaching strategies on the learning process of writing English, to know the difficulties faced by students when the English teachers implement the strategies in teaching writing to second-grade students of SMAN 2 Kupang.To carry out this research, two English teachers at SMAN 2 Kupang were taken as the subject in this study especially, teachers of XI Science 1 and 5. The research method used in this study was descriptive qualitative because the writer only focused on the English teacher's strategies in teaching English writing. This research used observation, interview, documentation, and recording as the instrument for collecting the data. The data analysis showed that there were three types of strategies used by English teachers to teach English writing. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews, documentation, and recording. Based on the research that has been done, teachers use group discussions, mind mapping, and PLEASE as strategies for teaching writing. The use of strategies in learning has a good impact on improving student learning outcomes; the use of strategies in learning has a good impact on improving student learning outcomes; Improving Student Activeness and Enthusiasm for Students, Students Appreciating Different Opinions, students Helping Each Other to Find Solutions in Completing Tasks, and Students Having Courage tobOpinions. Some of the things that become obstacles for students in the learning process when the teacher implements these strategies are students do not know how to use grammar and students think that English texts are difficult to understand so that when the teacher explains it in various ways students still find it difficult to do or understand, students have a limited vocabulary, students do not know how to use grammar.
