The Use Of Audio-Lingual Method To Increase English Listening Skills Of Tenth Grade Students Of SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Timur In The Academic Year Of 2022/2023

The research is entitled: “The use of Audio-lingual method to increase English listening skill of Tenth Grade Students’ of SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Timur in Academic Year of 2022/2023”. The research aims to describe the improvement of tenth grade students in listening skill at SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Timur by applying audio lingual method. The research used theory of listening to support this research. In teaching process, the writer applied audiolingual as media to improve students listening skills. In this research, the writer conducted classroom action research (CAR) which was done into two cycles. The subject of this research was 35 students of X MIA 1 SMA N Amanuban Timur. In collecting the data, the writer used test (pre-test, post-test 1 and post-test 2) and observation. In this research, the data in cycle I show that almost 85% students had lower scores, where the average score from the pre-test was 44,8. The student had complete in English started in post-test I where, almost 60% students complete in English with the average scores 60,14 and the students had successfully by applying audio lingual method was 85% students was complete in listening skill with the highest average in post-test II 69,22. It means that, there was an improvement in the average score and total of the students who complete the test from pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. The audio-lingual was the most method that used to solve the student problem in teaching English by applying audio-lingual method were gave some advantages for the students and gave improvement for students especially in term pronunciation and vocabulary.
