The Use Of Crossword Puzzle Game In Teaching And Learning Vocabulary To Ninth Grade Students Of SMP N 3 Soe In The School Year 2022
XMLThis research aimed at finding out the effect of using crossword puzzle teaching and learning vocabulary to ninth grade students of SMP N 3 SOE in the school year2022/2023. The subjects of this research were ninth grade students of SMP N 3 SOE consist of 35 students as respondents. By this research, the writer intend to find the effect and difficulties by using crossword puzzle. This research used a descriptive qualitative method and the data were collected through test and interview. The data were taken from the results of pre-test and post-test. The result of this research shows the effect of teaching and learning process to improve students’ vocabulary by using crossword puzzle and the difficulties faced by students. The effect of teaching learning process was indicated by the following evidences: the comparison of values of pre-test and post-test shows that the average pre-test scores obtained was 40,00 and the average value of post-test obtained was 86,28. It means that the use of crossword puzzle effective strategy to improve students english vocabulary. The difficulties faced by students in learning vocabulary are many students can not distinguish the same words and this makes students lazy to learn English vocabulary.
