The Use Of Picture Sequence To Improve Students’ Writing Ability Of Recount Text (A Case study with the First Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Larantuka)

This research is entitled The Use of Picture Sequence to Improve Students’ Writing Ability of Recount Text. This research discusses about writing recount text using picture sequence. The aims of this study are (1) To find out the ability of students’ writing ability of recount text using picture sequence. (2) To know how picture sequnce can improve the students’ writing ability of recount text. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The number of subjects of this research was 20 students. The writer chose class X SOS 1 from 12 classes in the first grade of SMA Negeri 1 Larantuka as the subject. In this research, the researcher used three instruments. The instruments were questionnaire and tests. The researcher analyzed the data by identifying, classifying, describing, and calculating the data. The level of ability of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Larantuka. In the pre test there were 20 students with the percentage 36, 6 % and were classified as good category, and in the post test there were 20 students with the percentage 39, 0% and were classified as good category. Picture sequnces can improve the students’ writing ability of recount text . Based on result of questionnaire show that the picture sequence can improve students writing ability in recount text it can be seen first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Larantuka in writing recount text, this can be seen from the results of student questionnaire shows that, The first was the students developed their writing ability. The second was picture sequence created fun learning’s atmosphere. The last was the students were motivated to write. All the suggestions are given to the English teacher, for the students, and for other researcher.
