The Effect Of Whatsapp Online Learning On Student Learning Activities In English Lessons In SMAN 1 Balauring During The Covid-19 Pandemic
XMLThe problems of this study are: (1) What are the difficulties found by the second-grade students in learning vocabulary? (2) How does the effect of using the Pictionary game improve second grade students’ vocabulary at SMP N 18 Kota Kupang? The aims of this study are: (1) To find out the difficulties faced by second grade students in learning vocabulary. (2) To find out the effect or improvement of second grade students vocabulary through the Pictionary game. A quantitative method employing an experimental design was employed for data collection over a period of two months, including pre-test, treatment, and post-test phases. The sample comprised 25 students, selected using purposive sampling, from the second grade of SMP N 18 Kota Kupang. The techniques used were interview and tests (pre-test and post-test). It was a multiple-choice question that consist of 25 items. The data were analyzed by counting the average score of the test using Pictionary game after the treatment. The result shows that Pictionary game can improve students’ vocabulary because the obtained average score was 80,16. It means that the use of Pictionary game can improve the vocabulary of the secondgrade students in SMPN 18 Kota Kupang.
