A Study Of Prepositions In Lio Language Spoken By Waturaka Villagers In Kelimutu Sub-District Of Ende Regency
XMLThis study focused on finding and describing the forms and functions of prepositions in Lio language spoken in Waturaka village. The informants for this study were the native speakers of Lio language and domiciled in Waturaka village of Ende regency. The writer used audio recording, elicitation, and note-taking to collect the data. There were transcription, translation, identification and sorting, description, and classification techniques to analyze the data. There were two results of this study. First, there were two main prepositions in the Lio language such as leka and da, which are categorized into the form of simple prepositions. However, other expressions form prepositional phrases in Lio language. Second, the functions of prepositions in Lio language were leka to indicate place and da to indicate direction. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there are prepositions in Lio language with different forms and functions from other languages.
