This research is entitled: "Teachers' Problems in Developing Students' Writing Skills at SMA Negeri 1 Komodo West Manggarai Academic Year 2021/2022 During Covid-19 Pandemic". This research aimed at knowing the teachers’ problems and roles in developing students’ writing skills at SMA Negeri 1 Komodo west Manggarai academic year 2021/2022 during Covid-19 Pandemic. The data was collected through an interview through virtual (zoom meeting) with five English teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Komodo. This research used descriptive qualitative method. There are five problems that teachers face. These are internet network connection, teachers need to motivate their students more, teachers need to deal with the students’ economic situation, teachers have to gain their students’ knowledge, and cannot teach their students directly. The teachers’ roles are Engage with thelearners online, create a supportive learning environment, used a mix of learning tools for better engagement, provide ongoing feedback and make e-learning content mobile. Teachers already try to play their roles well however they are still prefer to learn offline than online.
