The Use Of Word Mole Game In Teaching Vocabulary Mastery In Eight Grade Students At SMP N 1 Taebenu

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Word Mole game in improving vocabulary mastery among eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Taebenu. A quantitative method employing an experimental design was employed for data collection over a period of two months, including pre-test, treatment, and post-test phases. The sample comprised 30 students, selected using purposive sampling, from the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Taebenu. The study aimed to determine the extent to which the use of the Word Mole game contributed to enhancing students' vocabulary mastery. The results of this research indicated a significant difference in mean scores between the pre-test and post-test stages, with a percentage increase of 34.09% in students' vocabulary proficiency. The t-test value for vocabulary proficiency was calculated as 11.25, while the critical t-table value was 2.045. Thus, the ttest value (11.25) exceeded the t-table value (2.045). Consequently, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected.
