A Descriptive Study On Terms Of Address In Ende Language
XMLThe problems of this research are (1) what terms of address are there in Ende language; (2) what kinds of the address terms that are found in Ende language; and (3) how are those address terms used. This research aims at (1) finding out terms of address terms in Ende language, (2) classifying the kinds of the address terms found in Ende language, (3) describing how address terms are used in Ende language. The method used was desccriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted in Nangapanda subdistrict especially in Desa Uzuzozo. The informants of this research are three native speakers of Ende language. In collecting the data, the reseacher used semi structured interview, audio recording and note taking. The data were analysed follows the successive steps, they are, transcribing, sorting and classifying, analysing and describing. The results show that the terms of address related to age, terms of address related to sex, terms of address related to kinship relation and terms of address related to social status. All those terms of address were used to show politeness, intimacy, respect and affection. Terms of address in Ende language are used depending on the situation, time, place, and with whom we used them.
