This thesis is entitled “USING KINEMASTER EDITING APPLICATION IN TEACHING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL TO CLASS X MIA 3 STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 9 KUPANG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023”. It was conducted to answer the following questions What are the procedures of using KINEMASTER in teaching English speaking skill to class X MIA 3 students at SMA NEGERI 9 Kupang? ; What are the problems of using KINEMASTER in teaching English speaking skill to class X MIA 3 students at SMA NEGERI 9 Kupang?. This research used descriptive qualitative research which the writer became an observer. The aim of this research was to give or explain a situation which was observed. The subject of this research is the tenth grade students of MIA 3 SMA NEGERI 9 Kupang, which consist of 32 students but the writer only chose 20 students randomly as the sample of this study. The writer concluded that the implementation of KINEMASTER editing application videos as a media in teaching and learning process is stimulating and interesting for teaching and learning process, especially in listening activity through speaking class. KINEMASTER editing application also made students more enthused during learning activities, motivated passive students to be more active during the lesson. This relates to students ability to pay attention during the lesson, to understand the material and to speak up bravely to express their minds and to ask a question. The KINEMASTER editing application used in speaking class can help both of teacher and students in teaching and learning process . This research shows us that the use of the KINEMASTER edtiting application through speaking class as a media in learning could help students to solve their problems in creating a speaking video with animations that helped them to speak better rather than only using conversation one by one in speaking class. The tests result indicated that the students varied in their understanding in speaking class. There was a significant improvement of students’ speaking skill based on the result after getting all of the treatment using KINEMASTER editing application. It showed that the use of KINEMASTER editing application could improve students speaking skill.
