A Semiotic Analysis Of Traditional Wedding Ceremony In Tesbatan Village Amarasi –Kupang Regency

This research uses a qualitative descriptive method using Peirce's theory (1839-1914) to analyze cultural symbol data and Saussure's theory (1857-1913) to analyze symbol data. This research uses several data collection techniques: Observation, interviews, and video recording. The author found fifteen symbols in traditional marriage procedures, namely the Bible, Candle, Ring, Oko mama (Areca nut box), Areca nut, Betel, lime. , Tobacco, Money, Cow, Tray, Shirt, Shawl, Headbang, Traditional clothes. It is hoped that this research will provide valuable insight into understanding the meaning of symbols in traditional marriage procedures.
