The Use Of Dictogloss Technique In Intensive Listening Class Of English Study Program Of Nusa Cendana University

This study is entitled “The Use Of Dictogloss Technique In Intensive Listening Class Of English Study Program Of Nusa Cendana University.” This study was conducted to answer the research questions: (1) How is the dictogloss technique used in the teaching and learning process of intensive listening, (2) How well is students achievement of intensive listening taught with the use of dictogloss technique, (3) What difficulties are faced by the students in learning intensive listeningusing dictogloss technique. The writer took First Semester Class A of English Study Program to be the research subjects. The aims of this study were to describe the process of teaching and learning intensive listening by using dictogloss technique, to find out students achievement of intensive listening taught with the use of dictogloss technique, and to explain the difficulties faced by the students in learning intensive listening with the use of dictogloss technique. The method used in this study was descriptive both qualitative and quantitative. The data of this study were primary and secondary data. The qualitative data were obtained from the students’ interview transcripts and the quantitative data were obtained from the students’ listening test score. From the data obtained, the writer analyzed and found out that the learning process went quiet well and the students achievement were improved significantly in every session. In first session, their mean score was 49, in second session, their mean score was 63, and in third session, their mean score was 73. Besides that, there were two kinds of difficulties encountered by the students, which are internal difficulties and external difficulties.
