A Critical Discourse Analysis Of BTS Speech At Anti-Asian Hate Crimes And Asian Inclusion Diversity Conference 2022

This thesis is entitled A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF BTS SPEECH ATANTI-ASIAN HATE CRIMES AND ASIAN INCLUSION DIVERSITY CONFERENCE 2022. The thesis has two research problems. Firstly, what is the hidden meaning of BTS 'speech at the Anti-Asian Hate Crimes and Asian Inclusion Diversity Conference 2022?. Secondly, how does the ideology that explained in BTS speech at the Anti-Asian Hate Crimes and Asian Inclusion Diversity Conference 2022. The aimed of this study were to find out the hidden meaning of BTS speech and to describe the ideology that is explained in BTS speech by using three dimensional framework CDA of Fairclough. In conducting the data, the writer used descriptive qualitative method. The data resource of this study was BTS speech at Anti-Asian Hate Crimes and Asian Inclusion Diversity Conference 2022. The data were collected by using documentations techniques. The writer analyzed the data by identifying and describing techniques. The result shows that hidden meaning that found in BTS speech is the emphasis on the power of music to unite people regardless of language and cultural differences, message of equality, diversity, and respect for individual histories and experiences. The speech encourages understanding and valuing each person as a unique individual, contributing to a more inclusive society. The ideology within the speech revolves around themes of inclusivity, unity, social justice, and the power of music and art to bring people together. It positions BTS as advocates for these values and highlights the importance of addressing anti-Asian hate crimes and promoting diversity and acceptance within society. The type of ideology is socialism.
