USING A SERIES OF PICTURES TO IMPROVE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT READING COMPERHENSION OF CLASS C STUDENTS OF GRADE EIGHT OF SMP NEGERI 3 AMANUBAN TENGAH IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

The purpose of this thesis discussion is to find out how a series of images can be used to improve reading comprehension of descriptive text for class C class VIII students in the 2022/2023 academic year. To identification problems encountered by students descriptive text reading of class C students of grade eight SMPN 3 Amanuban Tengah in academic Year 2022/2023. To find out how students overcome reading problems in eighth grade C at SMPN 3 Amanuban Tengah in the 2022/2023 academic year. To carry out the research, the subjects of this research were students in class VIII/3 of SMP Negeri 3 Amanuban Tengah for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 20 students and a teacher and the researcher also selected 2 students to conduct interviews. The research design used in this research is descriptive qualitative because the researcher only focuses on using a series of pictures to understand descriptive text in learning to read English. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews. Understanding English descriptive text using series of pictures makes students understand the existing text better so they are more active and more enthusiastic in understanding the lessons they receive using individual assignments and also more focused on learning and using individual assignments to be more focused on learning. Students can ask other friends without feeling afraid, they can also help each other with difficult words. Students can also ask questions to the teacher and make students enthusiastic about following lessons without feeling bored.
