Analysis Of The Form, Meanings And Functions Of Go’et In Manggarai Communities At Pong Murung Village Ruteng District Manggarai Regency

This research is entitled “The Analysis of the Form, Meanings, and Functions of Go'et in Manggarai Communities at Pong Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency (Semantic analysis)”, compiled by Salvator Syukur, 2023. Supervised by Dr.Drs. Sebastianus Fernandez, M.Pd., Grad.Dipl. as supervisor 1 and Marcelinus Akoli, S.Pd., M.Ling as advisor II. This study aims to 1) explain the form of go'et in Manggarai communities at Pong Murung Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. 2) describe the meaning of go'et in Manggarai communities and 3) describe the function of go'et in Manggarai communities. This study uses the theory of Semantics. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out on November 2nd to November 07th, 2023. This study shows, 17 go'et of daily living activities in Pong Murung Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. The results of this study indicate that 17 go'et are included in the go'et in Manggarai communities. The form go'et in the research includes the form of parallelism and the form of sound equations. The meanings contained in the go'et of the Manggarai community's life activities are the meaning of denotation, connotation and social meaning. Meanwhile, the linguistic functions go'et found in this study are conative, poetic, and referential function.
