An Analysis of a Derivational Affixes in Lewolaga Dialect of Lamaholot Language

A derivational affix is an affix that is attached to base to change the part of speech. The research problems of this study are: 1) what affixes are included in the derivational process in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language?, 2) what are the function of derivational affixes in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language?, 3) how is the process of derivation with the use of derivational affixes in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language?. The aims of this study are: 1) to find out affixes included in the derivational process in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language, 2) to describe the function of derivational affixes in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language, 3) to explain the process of derivation with the use of derivational affixes in Lewolaga dialect of Lamaholot language. In this study, the method used in writing is a descriptive qualitative method. The data taken to be analyzed in this writing are the derivational affixes in Lewolaga dialect. The derivation process that occurs in Lewolaga dialect includes; a derived noun, and a derived adjective. The result shows that there are three prefix, they are: (be-, ke-, te-), two infix, they are: (en-, em-), four suffix, they are: (-eng, -ung, -keng, -ng), and three confix, they are: (ke –ng , te –neng, te –ng). This study the writer expects this study can provide something helpful for readers who are interested in studying language style more comprehensively.
