FORMS AND MEANING OF FE HADAK IN WEDDING CEREMONY SPEECH OF ROTENESE COMMUNITY

This study is entitled: ‘Forms and Meanings of fe hadak in Wedding Ceremony Speech of Rotenesse Community. This research was conducted based on two related aspects: 1) what are the forms of fe hadak speech in the wedding ceremony speech of the Rotenese community, 2) what are the meaning of fe hadak speech in the wedding ceremony of Rotenese community of each speech fe hadak. The method used in this research is qualitative, the data was collected from two sources including the writer himself and the informants. The subject of this research is the people who know how to use speech fe hadak in wedding ceremonies in the Rotenese community who live in Rote regency, especially in Rote thie. Two informants were chosen. The instruments used to collect the data are note -taking, observation, recording, and documentation. The writer used Bahasa Indonesia and Rote language as a medium of communication. The data were analyzed based on forms and meaning of speech of those speech fe hadak. The result of the analysis shows that there were three stages found in fe hadak speech, they are Lu’u Inak
(meeting), Tu’u, Nggani Eik/ fe hadak (held), Mbeda Dode (bride delivery to the groom’s house) types of meaning found in those speech social meaning, for example, ita takabua ia na hada hatahori, political participation, political culture. Social meaning/ social status and good relations with others in cultural context. Socialogic means a social control to maintain the relationship among the society. The location of this study was conducted in Rote Thie.
