This thesis is entitled: “Using Listen-Read-Discussion (LRD) Strategy to Improve Reading Comprehension of Eleventh Grade Students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende in Academic Year 2023/2024”. The problem in this study is :( 1) how can LRD strategy improve reading comprehension of eleventh grade students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende in the academic year 2023/2024. (2) What are the difficulties faced by eleventh grade students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende in the academic year 2023/2024 in using LRD strategy to improve their reading comprehension. This study aims to (1) find out how the LRD strategy can improve reading comprehension of eleventh grade students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende. (2) To find out the difficulties faced by eleventh grade students of SMAK St. Petrus Ende in using LRD strategy to improve their reading comprehension. The Research design used was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was conducted in SMAK St. Petrus Ende, especially eleventh grade students in the academic year 2023/2024. The population of this study was 135 students, and 44 students were selected as the sample. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. This study used quantitative methods and consists of two cycles. In collecting data, students were given a multiple-choice test with a total number of 10 items. The writer used some formulas to analyze the data. This can be seen from the results of students' scores in the pre-test and post-test in the first cycle. The level of students' reading comprehension in the pre-test was below with the average score, that is 52.95 and its percentage is 11.36%. There were only 5 students out of 44 students who achieved minimum achievement criteria (KKM). In the post-test cycle one, the students' reading comprehension level was still low with the average score, that is 57.72 and its percentage is13.63%. There were 6 students out of 44 students who achieved minimum achievement criteria (KKM). In cycle 2, the level of students' reading comprehension in the post-test was increased significantly with the average score was 81.59 and the percentage was 81.81%. Most of the 36 students of 44 students achieved minimum achievement criteria (KKM). It can be concluded that the LRD technique can increase the reading comprehension of eleventh grade students at SMAK St. Petrus Ende in the academic year 2023/2024.
