This thesis is entitled: ‘An Analysis of the Process and Meaning of Etu Traditional Ritual in Rendu Tutubhada Village, Nagekeo Regency’. The problems of the study are: first, what are the forms of the activities and their meanings in Etu traditional ritual in Rendu Tutubada village, Nagekeo Regency. Second, what are the forms of the speeches and their meanings in Etu traditional ritual in Rendu Tutubada village, Nagekeo Regency. This study aims to identify the forms of the activities and speeches in Etu traditional ritual in Rendu Tutubada village, Nagekeo regency and to describe the meanings of the forms of the activities and speeches in Etu traditional ritual in Rendu Tutubada village, Nagekeo regency. The method used was descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted in Rendu Tutubhada village, Nagekeo regency on December 2023. The writer selected three informants as the data resource. The techniques used to collect data were documentation, interview, recording and note taking. The data were analyzed by using transcribing, identifying and describing techniques. The result shows that there are some forms of activities and speeches found in Etu traditional ritual in Rendu Tutubhada village, Nagekeo regency. In activities, they are: Zonga wula gelu leza (looking at the position of the full moon), Ku ulu lele eko (calling from upstream to downstream), Rona loka etu (making boxing arenas), Rona kepo (making boxing gloves), Pebhi moy kae etu (preparing boxing costumes), Pebhi moy laba go (preparing traditional musical instruments), Pedhe pene (cooking rice), Sagu alu (bamboo dance), Lo pene (lowering the rice pot), Etu co'o (children's boxing), Etu meze (adult boxing), Seka (referee), Sike (etu companion), Dio (dancing and singing) and Tefa koma (giving spit water), Kobhe bue roga (night of young men and women) and Bebhi (pair dance). In speeches, they are: mantras and song lyrics. There are some types of meanings of forms found in Etu traditional ritual, such as: (a) Connotative meaning. For example, in activities such as Dio (dance and singing), Tefa koma (giving spit water), and Bebhi (pair dance), while in speeches such as mantras and song lyrics. (b) Social meaning. For example, in activities such as Zonga wula gelu leza (looking at the position of the full moon), Rona kepo (making boxing gloves), Rona loka etu (making boxing arenas), Pebhi moy kae etu (preparing boxing costumes), Etu co'o (children's boxing), Etu meze (adult boxing), Dio (dancing and singing), Kobhe loka bue roga (night of young men and women), and Bebhi (pair dance), while in speech such as song lyrics. (c) Religious meaning. For example, in activities such as Ku ulu lele eko (calling from upstream to downstream) and Tefa koma (giving spit water), while in speeches, such as mantras. (d) Cultural meaning. For example, in activities such as Rona kepo (making boxing gloves), Pebhi moy kae etu (preparing boxing costumes), Pebhi moy laba go (preparing traditional musical instruments), Sagu alu (bamboo dance), Dio (dance and singing), and Bebhi (pair dance), while in speeches such as song lyrics. (e) Sportive meaning. For example, Etu co’o (children’s boxing) and Etu meze (adult boxing).
